The reel features a quick-release spool and the construction of the reel is very durable. The Mayfly fly reel is spooled with 40m (50 yards) of 20lb backing, either a weight-forward floating or intermediate fly line and a 9′ (7lb) 3X tapered leader. This size fly reel and line is designed to match either a 5 or 6 weight fly rod.
