Fabulous Flames – June 2026 course date- Monday 8th June – Friday 12th June 2026 Want to get away on one of our stitching holiday with it all and relax with some wonderful Goldwork Embroidery. Meet like-minded people on our Monday-Friday retreats with many different ones held year round so there is something for everyone. No chores, no daily routine to distract you, and the luxury of feeling looked after from dinner on your day of arrival to lunch on departure day. Join us on this retreat to learn the techniques of goldwork , how and why stitches are done in a certain way and how to perfect the skills that you already have. With a choice of designs, either flames or a cross we will help you to create a stunning piece of work, learning several techniques and how to create 3d effects to make the design pop. Complete a gorgeous piece of work highlighting all the techniques that you have learnt With a choice of 2 designs, flames or a cross. You will learn techniques including how to lay plate, stitch leather, padding and much more. This stitching holiday is suitable for everyone, is there a particular stitch you want to learn? we can show you how to do it. Choose your design and away you go. Our tutor is Sarah Rakestraw who has many years of experience in the world of Goldwork, even writing a book Glorious Goldwork which is available on our website. If you so choose, we are happy for you to work your own design and we will guide you and assist you with techniques A pack will be available to purchase, you will be able to choose the colours you want to work with, so the cost will be selection dependent. The pack contains all the main threads and wires and will cost £40-£60 (prices subject to change) Venue Details Our venue for this retreat is located in the Staffordshire countryside, located just 3 miles from Junction 14 of the M6 motorway and 6 miles from Stafford railway station. Stone is just 3.5 miles. All embroidery retreat residential’s include accommodation which is generally a on suite bedroom for one. Occasionally we will have other options available. Cost includes all accommodation and meals as follows Breakfast includes cereals, fruit, toast etc Morning Coffee (or a variety of teas, Coffee or juice) comes with a selection of biscuits. Lunch is a buffet meal either hot or cold. Afternoon Tea (a variety of teas, or coffee, or juice) with biscuits available. Dinner is a three-course meal either hot or cold.
