Meet like-minded people on our Monday-Friday retreats with many different ones held year round so there is something for everyone. No chores, no daily routine to distract you, and the luxury of feeling looked after from dinner on your day of arrival to lunch on departure day. Join us on this retreat to learn the techniques of goldwork , how and why stitches are done in a certain way and how to perfect the skills that you already have. We will help you to create this stunning piece of work, learning several techniques and how to create a 3d effects to make the design pop. Complete a gorgeous piece of work highlighting all the techniques that you have learnt. You will be provided with a materials pack which is included in the cost of this retreat. This stitching holiday is suitable for everyone, is there a particular stitch you want to learn? we can show you how to do it. Choose your design and away you go. Our tutor is Sarah Rakestraw who has many years of experience in the world of Goldwork, even writing a book Glorious Goldwork which is available on our website. You will be creating this stunning pin cushion learning several Goldwork techniques couching, ribbled plate, stumpwork attaching beetle wings and creating tassels as well as assembling the Pin cushion creating your own useable work of art. Due to the nature and complexity of this design we will unfortunately, not be able to accommodate people doing their own project. Venue Details Our venue for this retreat is located in Crewe Cheshire, conveniently located close to the central railway station. All embroidery retreat residential’s include accommodation which is generally a on suite bedroom for one. Occasionally we will have other options available. Cost includes all accommodation and meals as follows Breakfast includes cereals, fruit, toast etc Morning Coffee (or a variety of teas, Coffee or juice) comes with a selection of biscuits. Lunch is a buffet meal either hot or cold. Afternoon Tea (a variety of teas, or coffee, or juice) with biscuits available. Dinner is a three-course meal either hot or cold.
