IMPERIAL RUSSIAN NAVY CADET SWORD Russia / 1856 An extremely rare imperial Russian navy cadet sword, M/1856. The nickle-finished blade is in excellent condition and bears the stamps of F. Gighte Solingen and WK&C (Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie). The leather-covered wooden scabbard has the original frog. The crossguard quillion has been broken and reattached during its working life period. There are a few examples in Russian Military Museum with similiar reattachment, which leads us to believe that this might have been a weak point for the sword.
